Compass Studio PR Case Study - Patagonia Takayna Campaign

Early 2018, Patagonia Australia launched the feature film “takayna” to generate global attention and gain support for World Heritage protection for the Tarkine region in north west Tasmania.

Compass was tasked with building media awareness and managing the film launch in conjunction with developing a strong voice for Patagonia with the aim of generating media attention and initiating action on this multiphase project.

"With electric vehicle startup Jaunt’s two founders coming from media and design backgrounds, what we lacked in mechanical knowledge we hoped to make up for in user experience, brand and awareness. To be honest we’d never really been that impressed with PR strategy in the past; the large brands we’d worked for could just buy their way to the front page. We believed we had a great story to tell with the launch of our classic 4WDs up-cycled into EV’s, but we were working with a minimal budget and talking to an Australian public that hadn’t shown much interest in electric vehicles (based on sales figures).
